similar pairings
some people want it all, but I don't want nothin' at all, if it ain't you baby, if i ain't got you baby. some people want diamond rings, some just want everything, but everything means nothing, if i ain't got you. - "if i ain't got you" by alicia keys
Most of this is really my opinion, and I like alot of pairings (despite how small this section is right now) of this "argumentive" type. Seriously. I'm in love with anything that has to do with tension. Though they may not have the same height complexes as Risa and Otani, they share that abusive-for-your-own-good kind of love.
jounouchi katsuya & mazaki anzu (Yu-Gi-Oh!)
Oh goodness - the moment I laid eyes on Risa and Otani's first argument, it reminded me so much of the JouAnzu pairing (my Yugioh OTP) from Yugioh. If you know the series well, you'll know that these two are always at eachother's necks, trying to prove points to one another in such.. abusive physical ways. They like to be sarcastic towards eachother, and usually have some sort of argument concerning Yugi's duels. What do they share in common with Risa and Otani more than the arguments? The fact they can stay stable friends. They may fight and kick eachother all the time, but they're actually very close, and they share one of the closest friendships in the series itself. It's kind of weird, how they'll always have some sort of yelling contest, only to figure out that they're just looking out for eachother.
takeshi (brock) & kasumi (misty) (Pokemon/Pocket Monsters)
This turns up here probably because of my dear obsession with it, and probably because they're one of the most controversial pairings of the series. They, too, have their yelling contests, and most of the time, it's Kasumi yelling at Takeshi and/or abusing him. Seriously - if there was a second couple than Team Rocket to get most physical, it would most definitely be Takeshi and Kasumi. Not only that, they have this mutual "parental guidance" thing going on with Satoshi (Ash). How do they relate to Otani and Risa? They have "lovers' quarrel" alot, and most of the time, Kasumi has the nerve to physically drag Takeshi away from women. It's their way of showing how much they "care" for one another.
