This section is still under construction. Only because there are about... 3 more characters that need to be introduced (to me :P) and they are all rivals for Risa and Otani's love. I have a couple characters so far, but that's all it'll amount to for the moment. Please be patient!

"I'm going to ask you to become my girlfriend soon. Please think about your answer."

Concerning Risa: Haruka is definitely one of the first "rivals" to appear in the way of Otani/Risa's blooming relationship. A little background info: He's a childhood friend of Risa's who used to get picked on for his foreign/feminine appearance, and since Risa defended them while they were kids, it's been his "dream" to become Risa's one-and-only boyfriend. Haruka is a really sweet character, and not to mention, at Risa's every command, willing to do anything for her. At first, Risa doesn't quite recognize him at school, but shortly after they get acquainted once again, Haruka takes her out on little "dates" afterschool. Of course, this strikes a tender chord in Otani's nerves, sending him into annoyance and jealousy. Not to mention, Haruka likes to call Otani "midget" and other names - so they don't quite get along, either. No matter how much Haruka tries to push his dislike of Otani on Risa, she can't really find herself to speak badly about Otani. Eventually, Haruka will have to set his one-sided love for Risa aside, realizing that her strong love for Otani is not a force to be reckoned with. He's always there for Risa, and Risa appreciates his friendship greatly, but Haruka isn't exactly Risa's "type". You can kind of tell she's not really "into" him by his bold confession of love - "I'm going to ask you to be my girlfriend soon." - Her expression isn't very surprised, nor is it happy.

"Senpai, i've fallen for you. ♥"

Concerning Otani: Now this was definitely strange. It really shocked me, haha. For a minute there, I thought Otani was really going to go for Seiko, since Seiko was so "cute" and dripping with sex appeal. Seiko happens to be a transfer student to Risa and Otani's school, and he's very cute, and fools everyone into thinking he's a girl, even Otani. Though Otani and Seiko meet only once or twice briefly, he falls in love with Otani. After a basketball demonstration one day, Seiko, along with Risa and Nobu are watching Otani, and Seiko, on impulse, plants a wet kiss on Otani, shocking everyone. Needless to say, Otani gets excited (remember, he's still convinced that Seiko is a girl) and begins to act cocky about it to Risa (who seems quite jealous of Seiko, because "he's" cute). The truth is soon found out, however, and when it is - Otani is really disturbed that all this time, he'd been kissed and fangirled over by a crossdressing boy. Though Otani pushes Seiko away, they remain friends. Seiko says he won't give up on Otani, but happens to support Otani and Risa together. For some reason, Seiko can really sense that Risa is quite taken with Otani before Risa can even realize it herself!

Concerning Risa: Oh boy, when Maity stepped into Risa's life, it's as if she had forgotten her feelings for Otani, but then again, after being rejected, who would want to remember those awkward feelings? Risa begins to harbor an obsession for Maity, and while she claims she "loves" him - it's just not the same. The "love" she feels for Maity is out of fangirlisms for a guy she loves in one of her dating games. It would seem that Maity also cares for Risa, running towards her as she tries her hardest to tell Otani that she loves him, and comforting her thereafter. The kind of care the Maity feels isn't the same as Risa's - I believe it is a brotherly-sisterly fashion. Why is he a rival, then? Because Otani hates Maity-sensei with a passion. Passion. Otani feels jealous that Risa's attention is exterted on Maity, and feels annoyed at her Maity Fanclub, though he may not say so himself. Even though Maity annoys Otani, Maity feels that he should pull their relationship a little further by making Otani hate him worse - by possibly "stealing" Risa away. Though Risa -really- likes Maity, it would never be the same. Eventually, she realizes her love for Otani overpowers that of her "love" for Maity.
